Don’t listen to anyone who claims they’ve never had a spell fail. Sometimes spells don’t work. That’s a painful truth that all witches have to come to terms with at some point in their lives. Even if 9 out of 10 spells are successful, there will always be one that either doesn’t work as planned, doesn’t work at all — or worse — backfires on you. The following post will highlight some of the reasons why your spells aren’t working the way you want them to.

You’re an inexperienced noob
We’ve all been there. Nobody comes into witchcraft an expert, after all. If you’re a beginner who is casting spells, you may not know exactly what you’re doing. All-too-often, beginner witches believe that all they have to do is gather ingredients, sit in a circle and recite “magic words.” That’s simply not the case. You need intent, focus and enough energy to fuel your spell. If you’re not paying attention to these things (which is a noob move), you’re probably not going to cast successful spells.
Sadly, when you’re a beginner, it’s hard to find reliable information. You’d think with the internet being what it is that this wouldn’t be an issue, but the over-saturation of content actually makes it hard to find reliable information. Also, anybody with a keyboard can declare themselves an expert and publish a book. So you can’t always trust print sources, either. Welcome to the modern world of witchcraft!
You’re hungry, tired or stressed
If you want a spell to be successful, then you need to be in your best shape while casting it. That doesn’t mean you need to hit the gym and “get healthy,” but it certainly means you’ve got to be in the right mindset to do it. Extreme hunger, exhaustion and stress are problems that make it almost impossible to focus, therefore making it practically impossible for you to cast a successful spell.
You’re doubtful and half-invested
Maybe you’re just dabbling with witchcraft and not entirely dedicated to being a witch. If that’s the case, you’re probably being weighed down with subconscious (or even conscious) doubt. This isn’t to say “if you believe, you’ll achieve.” However, if you’re doubting yourself while casting a spell, you’re not dedicating enough energy to actually manifesting what you’re wanting to achieve. Therefore, your mind and spirit aren’t fully invested in what you’re doing. As repeated time and time again, spells require energy. And if your energy is half-assed, then your spells will be half-assed as well.
You’re being impatient
Sometimes it may seem like a spell isn’t working, but the truth is that it could just be taking longer than you wanted. Maybe you didn’t focus on a time frame for your spell to work, or maybe your expectations simply require more time. Give your spell time to work, or double down and cast again with more specific intentions!

There are probably dozens of reasons why your spells aren’t working, but the above list should give an idea of some of those reasons. Have you ever had a spell fail because of any of the reasons listed above? If so, sound off in the comments with your stories!
