Protection spells are incredibly important in witchcraft, because you’re dealing with so many spiritual variables. That’s especially true if you’re a witch with a uterus in the United States or elsewhere that reproductive rights are under constant attack. And if you’re living in Texas, your rights have essentially already been taken away. In times like these, our protective magic should surround more than just our homes and our loved ones. Our physical bodies also need protection — in particular, our uteri. The following is a simple spell you can cast to protect your reproductive system as well as yourself.
What you need
- White Candle
- Long red sewing thread
- Sewing needle
- Shallow dish (like a salad plate or tea saucer)
- Salt
- Blessed water
Sprinkle a small amount of salt in the shallow dish, and then fill with just enough water to to create a shallow puddle of saltwater. You don’t need more than a 1/4 inch of water in the dish.
Thread your sewing needle with the red thread
Very carefully, steadily and slowly sew the red thread into the surface of the candle, creating small tunnels in the wax. Create any kind of stitch pattern you want. The purpose of this is to sympathetically bind the spell to you, while envisioning yourself binding your uterus to you spiritually. This might seem like a ridiculous thing to do on the surface, but the repetitive act of threading your candle while focusing on your goal, is meditative in nature. If you feel too silly for this part, you can simply wrap the thread around the candle several times, and then stick the needle into the candle to secure the thread to it. The same concept applies: Focus on surrounding you and your physical self with protective energy.
Sit the candle in the center of the shallow dish of water. No more than the very bottom of the candle should be submerged. Light the candle, while whispering the following:
“My body is mine. It belongs to me.
No violation of this fact will go unpunished,
For my body is divine and I am protected by spirit”
Repeat this mantra as many times as you need to feel confident in believing you are protected and safe. Feel free to edit and alter the words to better suit your needs, or your spiritual beliefs. Let the candle burn until it is spent, and then dispose of the resulting wax — dish and all — in the trash. Do not bury it on your property or keep it around. Let it go out in the trash, where trash goes. The key here is to form no emotional connection to the remains of your spell, and to view it more as a vessel for capturing negativity during the act of casting your protection spell. Symbolically, trashing the remains of your spell also sends the message that you, your energy and your body are not forces to be reckoned with.
